Will Locklin joined James Madison as an Athletic Communications Assistant in July 2026. In his current role, Will serves as the primary contact for Dukes field hockey, men’s tennis and softball.Â
Before arriving in Harrisonburg, Will was a Graduate Assistant in the communications office at Kansas City, serving as the primary contact for women’s basketball, volleyball, men’s golf, women’s tennis, track & field and cross country. During his two years with the Roos, Will covered several individual Summit League indoor and outdoor track & field champions and multiple NCAA All-Americans.Â
Additionally, Will also worked as a freelance broadcaster for Park at the NAIA level. Will was able to do play-by-play broadcasting for Pirates men’s volleyball, men’s soccer, softball and baseball.Â
Will is a Herndon, Virginia native and attended Virginia Tech, graduating with a bachelor’s degree in Sports Media & Analytics in the spring of 2024. The summer before his senior year, Will was an intern for the Harrisonburg Turks, aiding as one of the team’s play-by-play broadcasters and covering their 2023 Valley League Championship campaign.Â
As a Hokie, Will was a student intern in the Virginia Tech athletic communications office, completing record book projects, writing feature stories and contributing as a public address announcer for Olympic sports. Will also worked as a social media manager for 3304 Sports, Virginia Tech’s primary student-run multi-media platform where he also gained experience as a play-by-play broadcaster and beat writer.
