One of the top defenders in the 26-year history of the JMU women's soccer program, Cuesta was awarded All-America status in 2000 by the National Soccer Coaches Association of America and went on to compete in the Umbro Select Senior All-Star Game. She was a two-time All-CAA and All-State honoree and helped JMU to two NCAA Championship appearances. Cuesta started every game of her last three seasons and, while concentrating as a defender, finished her career with six goals and seven assists for 19 total points. Of her six career tallies, four were game-winning goals.
