The James Madison volleyball team knocked off the George Mason Patriots on Friday 30-24, 30-15, 27-30, 30-20 in Colonial Athletic Association action. Mason fell to 4-15, 1-11 while James Madison improved to 12-8, 6-6.  The Dukes hit .320 in the match and had 53 digs and seven blocks while Mason hit .041 and had 34 digs and six blocks. The Patriots had a positive hitting percentage in just the third game and while the Patriots were aided by James Madison's 24 service errors, it wasn't enough to rally Mason from behind. Aside from that third-set fluster, James Madison had little problem handing Mason its seventh-straight loss.  Ashley Copenhaver had a career-high 19 kills and hit .438 while Allyson Halls had 16 kills and hit .478. Kelsey McNamara added 15 kills and Jena Pierson had 20 digs. Krysta Cannon weighed in with 52 assists.  Mason had nine kills from Jaqueline Kohler but the sophomore made 11 errors. Chantal Bodkin-Clarke and Niki Bernardes, who was celebrating her birthday, each had eight kills. Bernardes added eight digs while Zulma Rojas had 10 digs and three service aces. Lindsey Angelo came off the bench to record two service aces, with both coming during a critical stretch in the third game, when Mason broke a 20-20 tie to take a 25-20 lead.  The Patriots are in the midst of their longest losing streak since an 11-match losing streak in 1998. James Madison is currently sixth in the CAA. The Dukes next play on Friday at Georgia State while Mason is on the road on Friday at UNC Wilmington. Both matches are set for 7 p.m. Â
