LeZotte led JMU in tackles in 2005 for the second straight season and was the defensive player of the year in the Atlantic 10 Conference. He and Magerko both were first-team All-Atlantic 10 honorees, and both last week were first-team selections to the Walter Camp Foundation's Division I-AA All-America Team.
LeZotte took part in 95 tackles, including 46 unassisted stops, during the 2005 season. He also returned an interception 100 yards for a touchdown in JMU's regular-season finale against Towson and during the campaign recovered two fumbles and caused three.
JMU finished the 2005 season ranked first in the Atlantic 10 and ninth nationally in rushing defense (106.8 yards per game), second in the Atlantic 10 and fifth nationally in scoring defense (15.3 points per game) and second in the Atlantic 10 and ninth nationally in total defense (287.8 yards per game).
Last season when JMU won the Division I-AA national championship, LeZotte was named first-team All-America by I-AA.org, second team by Associated Press and third team by The Sports Network.
Magerko was a leading performer on an offensive line that helped JMU average 404.4 yards per game of total offense and 234.5 yards per game rushing. The Dukes ranked second in the Atlantic 10 and 11th nationally in scoring (35.6 points per game) and second in the Atlantic 10 and 13th nationally in rushing offense.
Magerko last season was a first-team All-America honoree by Associated Press.
JMU won its final three 2005 games and finished the season with a 7-4 record.
