CHARLOTTE, N.C., Sept. 10, 2006. -
JMU came back from its loss against Davidson Friday with a 3-0 win over Charlotte in the final game of the
Charlotte JAKO Invitational Men's Soccer Tournament.Â
The Dukes improved their record to 3-1 for the season, while Charlotte dropped to 2-3-1.
JMU scored two quick goals to lead Charlotte at the half. Â Junior
Tristan Murray (Brampton, Ontario/St. Marguerite d'Youville) opened the scoring with an unassisted goal at the 24:07 mark.
Less than a minute later, red-shirt senior
Mike Tuddenham (Cincinnati, Ohio/Indian Hill) scored with a header off of a free kick. Â Sophomore
Esteban Muldano (Alexandria, Va./Thomas A. Edison) was credited with the assist.
The 49ers were down a player due to a red card for the last five minutes of the game. JMU capitalized on the situation with only 2:01 left in regulation when senior
Jon Britton (Alpharetta, Ga./Pendleton (Fla.)) scored the third and final goal. Â Fellow senior
Kurt Morsink (San Jose, Costa Rica/IMG) assisted in the play.

Kevin Trapp (Charlotte, N.C., Meyers Park) made five saves in the game. Â The Dukes out-shot Charlotte by 15-9.
"Congratulations to James Madison they came out ready to play today," Charlotte coach John Tart said. "They took it to us today."
Morsink, Trapp and Murray were named to the All-Tournament team.
The Dukes return to Harrisonburg for a four game home-stand starting with
Howard on Sept. 13 at 7 p.m.Â
JMU will open CAA play against Georgia State on Sept. 22 and UNC-Wilmington on Sept. 24.
