DELAWARE TOPS JMU WOMEN'S SWIMMING AND DIVING 150-93

NEWARK, Del., Jan. 13, 2007 ? Senior Allison Keel (Mechanicsville, Va./Atlee) claimed two first-place finishes and swam on a winning relay team as James Madison University fell to the University of Delaware 150-93 in a Colonial Athletic Association women's swimming and diving meet on Saturday.
JMU fell to 0-6 overall and 0-4 in conference meets. Delaware improved to 11-2 and 5-2 in the CAA.
Keel won the 50-yard freestyle in 24.18 seconds and the 100 free in 52.82 seconds. She swam the fourth leg of the 400-yard freestyle relay in 52.27 seconds as the team finished first in 3:37.833.
Keel was joined by sophomore Meghan Heil (Severna Park, Md./Severna Park), freshman Julie Stefanski (Westerly, R.I./Westerly), and freshman Amanda Hauck (Woodbridge, Va./Forest Park).
JMU also picked up two wins from junior Ali Miller (Stafford, Va./Brooke Point). She captured both diving events by less than 3 points over Delaware's Emily Pretz. Miller scored 193.43 points on the one-meter board and 190.50 on the three-meter.
JMU will continue conference action on Jan. 20 with a 1 p.m. meet in Savage Natatorium against Old Dominion University. |
