HARRISONBURG, Va., Jan. 20, 2007 - Senior
Allison Keel (Mechanicsville, Va./Atlee) and freshman
Amanda Hauck (Woodbridge, Va./Forest Park) each won two individual events and swam on two winning relays as James Madison University topped Old Dominion University 171.5-128.5 in a Colonial Athletic Association women's swimming and diving meet on Saturday in Savage Natatorium.
JMU earned its first victory of the season and improved to 1-6 overall and 1-4 in the CAA.
Hauck won the 100-yard backstroke in 1:01.17. She followed that with a win in the 200 backstroke in 2:13.77.Â
Keel claimed the 50-yard freestyle in 24.15 seconds and the 200-yard free in 1:53.83.
Hauck and Keel teamed with sophomores
Nancy Richardson (Centreville, Va./Westfield) and
Laura Ginish (Lincoln, R.I./Lincoln) to take first place in the 200 yard medley relay. The group's time was a season best for JMU. The duo later teamed with freshman
Julie Stefanski (Westerly, R.I./Westerly) and sophomore
Meghan Heil (Severna Park, Md./Severna Park) to claim the 400-yard freestyle in 3:36.89.
Junior diver
Ali Miller (Stafford, Va./Brooke Point) won both the one-meter and three-meter events for the Dukes. She set JMU season-best marks in both with scores of 234.3 and 252.3 respectively.
The Dukes added one more victory for the afternoon in the 100-yard butterfly with freshman
Christina Gennari (Westerville, Ohio/Trinity Catholic) winning in 1:01.04.
JMU will have its last meet next Saturday, Jan. 27, with a 2 p.m. date at William and Mary.
