WOMEN'S GOLF OPENS SPRING SEASON AT PINEHURST CHALLENGE

PINEHURST, N.C., March 9, 2007 ? The James Madison University women's golf team opened the spring season at the Pinehurst Challenge. The Dukes shot a 343-344-687 on the par 72, 5,978-yard course.
Diana Meza (Cali, Columbia/Goochland (Va.)) led the team with an 81-80-161.
Mary Chamberlain (Dennis, Mass./Suffield Academy) finished with an 84-83-167 while Mary Stevens (Acton, Mass./Heritage Academy) carded an 89-90-179.
Meagan Hayes (Milwaukee, Wis./DSHA) shot an 89-91-180 and Catelyn Eddy, Manchester, Conn./East Catholic) rounded out the field for JMU carding a 92-91-183.
The women's next tournament is March 19-20 at the USF-Waterlefe Invitational in Tampa, Fla.
