HOT SPRINGS, Va., April 24, 2007 ? The JMU women's golf team concluded its season at the CAA Championships over the weekend finishing in sixth place out of 10 teams. The Dukes shot a 326-317-326-969 on the par 72, 6,000 yard course.
Diana Meza (Cali, Columbia/Goochland (Va.)) led the Dukes with a top-ten finish after carding a 79-76-79-234 to finish tied for eighth place out of 50 competitors.
Mary Chamberlain (Dennis, Mass./Suffield Academy) shot an 83-81-81-245 and teammate Kiley Bishop (Oak Hill, Va./Oakton) scored an 84-80-82-246.
Catelyn Eddy (Manchester, Conn./East Catholic) carded an 80-82-86-248 and Mary Stevens (Acton, Mass./Heritage Academy) rounded out the Dukes with an 88-80-84-252.
UNC Wilmington won the CAA title with a team score of 306-297-307-910. The Seahawks had all five of their competitors finish in the top 16 and Ashley Tait of UNCW finished first with a score of 76-73-73-222.
Georgia State finished second after carding a 315-310-302-927 and Xavier finished third with a score of 311-318-309-938.
