W&M improved to 11-9 overall and 7-3 in the CAA. The Tribe remained in a three-way tie for second place in the league with the win. JMU fell to 10-10 overall and 3-7 in conference games.

The Tribe held a seven-point lead at 66-59 with 28 seconds remaining when JMU junior guard Abdulai Jalloh (District Heights, Md./National Christian Academy) converted a four-point play after being fouled by sophomore David Schneider (Phoenix, Ariz./Brophy Prep).
