HARRISONBURG, Va., March 25 ? The JMU men's tennis team ran its winning streak to five straight matches with a 5-2 non-conference win over Liberty Tuesday.
Madison evened its record at 7-7, reaching .500 for the first time all season.
The Dukes were led by senior Jesse Tarr who teamed with sophomore Mike Smith for an 8-2 win over Liberty's Rafael Riso and Sebastian Pena in doubles play. Tarr also defeated Chad Simpson 6-3, 6-3 in the No. 2 singles match.
Freshman Jared Robinson played No. 1 singles for Madison, coming from behind to defeat Pena 1-6, 6-2, 6-1.
The Dukes clinched the doubles point when senior Carlin Campbell and junior Brian Rubenstein battled to a 9-7 victory over Leandro Schujmann and Jarda Trojan.
