HARRISONBURG, Va., May 10, 2008 ? Senior Jeff Hatcher (Raleigh, N.C./Garner) tossed a complete game two hitter to lead UNC Wilmington past James Madison 7-2 in the middle game of a Colonial Athletic Association baseball series on Saturday afternoon at Long Field/Mauck Stadium.

UNCW, ranked 29^th nationally by the National Collegiate Baseball Writers of America, improved to 38-11-1 overall and 22-3-1 in the CAA. JMU dropped to 31-15 overall and 18-7 in the CAA and is assured of its first home series loss of the season.

Hatcher picked up just the second complete game of his career, allowing two runs on two hits, his fewest hits allowed of the season. He walked three and struck out two JMU batters while improving to 6-0.

Junior Justin Wood (Dayton, Va./Turner Ashby) scattered 10 hits over 6 1/3 innings and left with a 2-2 tie and a runner on second in the seventh inning. However, freshman Turner Phelps (Roanoke, Va./Lord Botetourt) gave up a two-run home run and a sacrifice fly in the inning with the go-ahead runner charged to Wood for the loss.

Seniors Mark Carver (Wendell, N.C./East Wake) and Daniel Hargrave (Hurdle Mills, N.C./Orange) each had three hits and homered for the Seahawks. The home runs were the 20^th and 16^th respectively for the hard-hitting duo. Senior Jason Appel (Plainview, N.Y./Plainview JFK) also homered and drove in three runs on two hits. The three home runs for the game for UNCW set a new school season record with 82. Sophomore Bobby Leeper (Raleigh, N.C./Wakefield) doubled twice, walked, and scored twice.

JMU's only hits came from consecutive batters in the fourth as redshirt freshman Steven Caseres (New City, N.Y./St. Joseph Regional) drew a two-out walk and moved to second on a single by redshirt junior Lee Bujakowski (Hopewell, Va./Hopewell). Freshman McKinnon Langston (Tallahassee, Fla./North Florida Christian) then drove in both runs with a double off the wall in right center.
