NORFOLK, Va., Jan. 30, 2009 ? The James Madison men's tennis team dropped a Colonial Athletic Association match at Old Dominion on Friday 7-0. The Monarchs swept the three doubles matches to take the doubles point, before sweeping singles play.
JMU falls to 0-5 in dual matches this season and 0-2 in the CAA. ODU improved to 2-1, 1-0.
A pair of Dukes pushed their opponents to a winner-take-all third set as junior Mike Smith (Fairfax Station, Va./Robinson) lost to Tobias Fanselow 6-4, 2-6, 6-4 and freshman Tommi Nissinen (Oulu, Finland/Kastellin lukio) fell 6-4, 6-7 (4), 10-6 to Alex Fun
