PARRIS PLACES 71ST AT NCAA CROSS COUNTRY NATIONAL CHAMPIONSHIPS

TERRE HAUTE, Ind., Nov. 23, 2009 -- James Madison senior Alison Parris (Saint Leonard, Md./Patuxent) placed 71st at the NCAA National Cross Country Championships Monday afternoon.

She completed the 6,000-meter race in 21 minutes, 7.2 seconds. It was the fifth-best finish by a JMU runner at the NCAA national meet.

Illinois senior Angela Bizzarri won the race in 19:46.8.

Some 254 runners completed the race.

Indiana State hosted the meet on the LaVern Gibson Championship Course located at the Wabash Valley Family Sports Center.
