RICHMOND, Va., March 14, 2009 -- James Madison scored four unanswered goals late in the second half to pull away to a 14-11 win at Richmond in women's lacrosse Saturday afternoon.
The 16th-ranked (Inside Lacrosse and IWLCA polls) Dukes improved to 4-1 while Richmond dropped to 0-6.
The game was tied six times, the last time at 9-9 after Richmond's Allison Furstenburg converted a free-position shot with 18:25 left to play.
It was at that point that JMU scored three goals in a span of one minute and four seconds to pull out to a 12-9 advantage with 15:03 remaining.
First, freshman Monica Zabel (Ellicott City, Md./Mt./Hebron) scored off a pass from freshman Ashley Kimener (Oakton, Va./Oakton) at 16:07. Senior Jaime Dardine (Broomall, Pa./Marple Newtown) scored an unassisted goa
