The Dukes won their fourth straight game and improved to 21-8 overall and 14-4 in league play. UNCW's record is now 15-14 overall and 9-9 in the CAA.
JMU will be the number three seed for next week's CAA Tournament and will play the Northeastern-Georgia State winner in a 7:30 p.m. quarterfinal on March 13. The tournament opens with first-round games on March 12 at the JMU Convocation Center.
Dukes' sophomore guard Dawn Evans (Clarksville, Tenn./Northeast) scored a game-high 26 points, including 17 in the second half. Sophomore forward/center Jalissa Taylor (Chesterfield, Va./L.C. Bird) had a double-double with 13 points and a game-high 11 rebounds. Redshirt junior guard Sarah Williams (Wilmington, Del./Ursuline Academy) added 11 points, and senior forward Kisha Stokes (New York, N.Y./Murry Bergtraum) contributed seven rebounds.
