WOMEN'S LACROSSE NOTES, April 21, 2010

Head Coach: Shelley Klaes-Bawcombe, fourth JMU season, 36-27; ninth career season, 86-62
JMU This Season: 11-2 overall, 4-0 Colonial Athletic Association
Last Week: At home last week, the Dukes defeated Drexel 19-7 on April 16 and beat 16th-ranked Hofstra 14-8 on April 18.
This Week: The Dukes hit the road for an away match against Old Dominion on April 23, then return home to play William and Mary on April 25.
Scouting ODU: Old Dominion currently holds a 2-10 overall record and is 0-4 in CAA play. The Monarchs have dropped four games to Top 20 teams and are coming off a 12-11 double-overtime loss to Delaware at home on April 18.
The Series vs. ODU: JMU leads the series 32-8, but ODU won the latest meeting as the Monarchs took an 11-8 victory in Harrisonburg last season.
Scouting W&M: William and Mary, currently ranked 19th in the IWLCA poll, takes an 8-6 overall record and a 2-2 CAA record into an April 23 home game against George Mason. All six of the Tribe's losses have been to Top 20 teams, including CAA defeats to then 16th-ranked Hofstra (15-7) on April 9 and to then 11th-ranked Towson (12-6) on April 18. W&M is tied with Drexel for fourth place in the CAA standings and in the running for a berth in the four-team CAA Tournament.
The Series vs. W&M: William and Mary leads the series 33-19 and has won the last four meetings. The last three games and four of the last five meetings have been decided by a single goal and in overtime play. W&M beat the Dukes 14-13 in 2009 in Williamsburg.
Griffin Scores #100: JMU redshirt senior Kim Griffin scored her 100th career goal in the Dukes' 19-7 victory over Drexel on April 16. She became only the 15th player in school history to pass the 100-goal mark. With a current total of 105 goals, Griffin is currently in 14th place on JMU's all-time goals list.
Senior Recognition: JMU's senior class will be recognized in a ceremony prior to the Dukes' April 25 home game with William and Mary. The Dukes' seniors are Kim Griffin, Susan Lines, Morgan Kelley, Michelle Maier and Meredith Torr.
CAA Standings: With its April 18 win over Hofstra, JMU secured sole possession of first place in the CAA standings with a 4-0 record. Towson (4-1) is in second place, followed by Hofstra (3-1) in third. Drexel (2-2) and William and Mary (2-2) are tied for fourth, followed by Delaware (2-3) in sixth.
The leading team in the final standings will host the CAA Tournament semifinals and finals on May 6 and 8. The top four teams in the final standings will qualify for the tournament field.
There are 11 league contests scheduled between now and the end of regular-season play on April 29.
