HARRISONBURG, Va., Sept. 11, 2010 - Senior Lindsay Callahan (Virginia Beach, Va./Landstown) was named the JMU Days Inn Invitational Most Valuable Player after recording a combined 30 kills and 22 digs in a pair of wins at Sinclair Gymnasium/Godwin Hall Saturday. James Madison started the day with a 3-1 win over Delaware State before capping the tournament with a 3-0 win over Lehigh.
The Dukes beat Delaware State by set scores of 25-22, 23-25, 28-26, and 25-14 and Lehigh by scores of 25-21, 25-21 and 25-22. Madison improved to 7-2 overall and 6-0 at home. The set loss to Delaware State was the first set the Dukes have dropped at home all season. DSU finished the tournament with a 2-8 record while Lehigh fell to 4-7.
Callahan was joined on the All-Tournament team by seniors Lauren Fanelli (Moon Township, Pa./Moon Area) and Jessica Zeroual (Ottawa, Ont./De La Salle).
Against Lehigh, Callahan tied for a match-high 11 kills on .258 hitting while adding eight digs and five blocks (one solo, four assists). Sophomore Danielle Erb (Tampa, Fla./Plant) finished with 11 kills and five digs. Zeroual had four kills and no errors to hit .444 while also chipping in five blocks. Junior Holly Wall (Kaukauna, Wisc./Kaukauna) had a team-high 12 digs.
As a team, JMU outhit the Mountain Hawks .195 to .087 and had nine blocks to Lehigh's five.
Lehigh was led by Taylor Poole's nine kills on .250 hitting. Rachel Charles had a match-high 14 digs and Jessica Kudirca led all players with 17 assists.
Poole and Charles were named to the All-Tournament team.
Against DSU, Callahan was one of four Dukes to record double-digit kills and one of three players with a double-double as the JMU won Delaware State 3-1.
Joining Callahan with double-doubles were Erb and sophomore Natalie Abel (Washington, Pa./Trinity).  Callahan had a season-high 19 kills and 14 digs while Erb chipped in with 14 kills and 11 digs and Abel had 10 kills and 13 digs.  Junior Kelly Turner (Ontario, N.Y./Wayne Central) was the fourth Duke with double-digit kills, finishing with 14. Wall had a match-high 24 digs,
