HARRISONBURG, Va., May 31, 2011 -- James Madison lacrosse player Casey Ancarrow (Jarrettsville, Md./John Carroll) has been named to All-America Teams selected by the Intercollegiate Women's Lacrosse Coaches Association and by Synapse Sports.
Ancarrow also earned IWLCA All-South Region honors along with teammates Mary Kate Lomady (Abington, Pa./Abington) and Cally Chakrian (East Meadow, N.Y./East Meadow).
Ancarrow, a redshirt sophomore attacker, was one of only four sophomores selected to the 51-member IWLCA All-America Team. She was named to the IWLCA All-America Third Team and was also selected to the Synapse Sports All-America Third Team.
Ancarrow led JMU in goals (43) and points (59) in 2011 and was among the nominees for the 2011 Tewaaraton Trophy, honoring the nation's top college lacrosse player. After two seasons she is in the top 25 on JMU's career goals (23rd, 84), assists (tied 18th, 40) and points (tied 19th, 124) lists.
