ROCKVILLE, Md. – The James Madison men's golf team improved seven strokes in the final round winning the Maryland Terrapin Invitational on Tuesday afternoon. This marks the team's second tournament title in the 2015-16 fall season.
JMU carded a 1-under 287 in the final round to climb atop the leaderboards with 581 total strokes, seven strokes ahead of second-place finisher Loyola. All of JMU's scorers finished in the top 15 in the 63-golfer and 11-team field.
Freshman
Alex Henderson (72-72) led the Dukes at even-par with 144 strokes, tying for second place and recording his best collegiate finish.
Sophomore
Jack Floydd (75-72), junior
Ryan Cole (75-72) and redshirt junior
Connor Walters (76-71) all tied for seventh, matching rounds of a 3-over 147. Junior
Poom Pattaropong rounded out the scoring for the Dukes, tied for 12th with a 4-over 148.
Playing as individuals, redshirt freshman
Shota Ozaki and senior
Chris Kapsak finished tied for fifth with 146 strokes and tied for 47th with 158 strokes, respectively.

After two rounds (303-291), JMU had carded 594 strokes, trailing first-place finisher Maryland by 20.
