NEWARK, Del. – Sophomore quarterback Bryan Schor hit junior wide receiver Brandon Ravenel on a 12-yard touchdown pass with only 17 seconds remaining to lift No. 14 James Madison to a thrilling 24-21 Colonial Athletic Association Football victory at Delaware on Saturday evening at Delaware Stadium.

JMU bounced back from two consecutive losses to improve to 8-2 overall and 5-2 in CAA play while the Blue Hens fell to 3-7 and 2-5. The Dukes' win snapped a three-game skid against UD and the first win in Newark since a 20-8 triumph on Oct. 31, 2009.

Delaware held a 21-17 lead late in the fourth quarter when junior safety Raven Greene made a third-down stop just a yard shy of the first-down marker to force a punt. Eric Enderson's kick went just five yards, giving the Dukes' offense the ball at their own 49 yard line with 1:05 to go.

Schor led the Dukes down the field, hitting junior wide receiver Rashard Davis and junior running back Khalid Abdullah on 23- and 16-yard receptions, respectively, to get to the Delaware 12 yard line. After two incompletions, the Milford, Pa., native found Ravenel in the corner of the end zone, threading the ball through two UD defenders for the game-winning score.

Delaware entered the final quarter up 21-14 after Ryan Torzsa had a 41-yard fumble recovery for a touchdown. Redshirt senior kicker Ryan Maglio nailed a 22-yard field goal on the ensuing possession to trim JMU's deficit to 21-17 with 11:39 left.

Schor finished with 18 completions for 193 yards and 65 yards on 17 carries. Redshirt sophomore running back Cardon Johnson led the way for the Dukes on the ground with 98 yards and a touchdown. Davis had five catches for 73 yards.

Redshirt sophomore linebacker Kyre Hawkins set a career high with 17 tackles, a game high. Eight other Dukes recorded at least six tackles and the team finished with three fumble recoveries. JMU outgained Delaware 388-317 which included limiting the Hens to only 22 passing yards.

CLIMBING THE RECORD BOOKS:
With five catches for 44 yards in the win junior wide Brandon Ravenel moved into ninth place all-time at JMU with 1,442 career yards, passing Dwayne Hayes (1988-91, 1,402) and L.C. Baker (2004-07, 1,434). Daniel Brown (2011-14) is eighth with 1,450 receiving yards. Ravenel also moved into 10th place in all-time catches with 105, passing Delvin Joyce (1997-2000, 102). He is one shy of Lindsay Fleshman (1997-00), who had 106.

STAYING DISCIPLINED:
The Dukes committed a season-low two penalties for just 10 yards. The previous low was seven for 67 yards against Towson on Oct. 10. This is also the first time in 2015 that JMU did not allow a first down off a penalty.

TOP GUNNAR:
Redshirt junior punter Gunnar Kane pinned the Blue Hens inside their own 20 five times, a career high. He averaged 42.6 yards per punt, including a long of 54.

TIGHT CAA RACE:
Villanova's 21-20 win over Richmond puts JMU in a three-way tie for second in the CAA with the Wildcats and Spiders, all of whom have a 5-2 conference record. The Dukes can win a share of the CAA championship with a win over Villanova next weekend and a Richmond win over William & Mary (6-1).
