SERIES HISTORY
- Tuesday's contest will be the eighth in the all-time series between the two schools, though the teams have not met since a March 18, 2009, game in Harrisonburg that saw the Dukes earn a 69-58 win.
- That game, part of the CollegeInsider.com Tournament, gave JMU its first 20-win season since the 1999-2000 campaign. Then-freshman guard Devon Moore scored a career-high 21 points in the victory.
- The Dukes have never lost to The Mount in Harrisonburg, posting a perfect 5-0 record against the Mountaineers in Harrisonburg that dates back to an 80-67 win on Dec. 17, 1988, the first-ever contest between the teams.
LAST TIME OUT
- James Madison used a 7-0 run over the final 1:34 to capture its seventh straight win, a 67-61 triumph over East Carolina in non-conference men's basketball action at the JMU Convocation Center on Sunday, Dec. 20.
- The Dukes, who moved to 9-3 with the win, held ECU without a field goal for the final 5:46 en route to the victory, picking up a season-high 23 points from senior guard Ron Curry. The Pirates dropped to 7-5 with the loss.
- Curry finished with 23 points on the day, including 13 in the second half on 5-for-6 shooting, the fourth-highest total by a JMU player this season. The performance, which included seven rebounds, marked the senior's fourth 20-point effort of the year.
- Junior guard Shakir Brown joined Curry in double-digits with 13 points, while junior forward Dimitrije Cabarkapa added 11 of his own on 4-for-5 shooting.
