Breakthrough Performance
Alyssa Zurlo scored the first two goals of her career, against Seton Hall. After starting her first career game on Friday night in the Georgetown contest, she picked up her second career start and scored the first and fourth goals against the Pirates. Prior to this weekend, she had played in just five games for the Dukes due to injury.
Quoting the Coach
"This is a very special kid," Head Coach Dave Lombardo said on Alyssa Zurlo. "She's a senior and these are the first two games she's ever started. She's fought injury after injury, surgery after surgery, and I'm just elated and thrilled for her to be able to do this. I haven't seen a kid who wants it as bad as she does and we're going to ride that momentum."
