TOWSON, Md. – Senior right side hitter
Janey Goodman racked up a match-high 15 kills, but James Madison fell to Towson in straight sets (18-25, 16-25, 19-25) Friday evening inside the SECU Arena.
The Tigers improved to 17-5 on the season with a 4-3 mark in Colonial Athletic Association play as the Dukes fell to 11-9 overall with a 3-4 record in league action.
Goodman led the offense with a match-high 15 kills on 27 swings for a .324 hitting percentage, adding two digs and a block. Redshirt freshman outside hitter
Kelly Vahos recorded five kills, while freshman middle blocker
M'Kaela White and senior outside hitter
Kate Whitmire each tallied three kills.

Tilbe Yaglioglu garnered a match-high 17 assists and recorded seven digs. Junior libero
Taylor Austin headed the defense with 14 digs as sophomore middle blocker
Taylor Gail led the Dukes at the net with four blocks.
Goodman tallied the first point of the match hammering home a kill to give the Dukes an early lead, but Towson used a 4-0 rally to gain its first lead of the set, 6-3. The Tigers used a 9-0 run midway through the opening set to extend their lead by nine points as the Dukes fell, 25-18.
Towson and the Dukes were locked at 14-all in the second set before Towson pulled ahead with a 4-0 run. James Madison tallied two points on a Tiger error and a block from White and Yaglioglu, but the Tigers closed the match on a 7-2 run to take the set, 25-16. The Dukes battled from behind to pull within one of Towson, 16-15, but the Tigers held on for a 25-19 victory to record the sweep.

DIGGING IT
Junior
Taylor Austin recorded double-digit digs in her 19th consecutive match of the season to bring her season total to 364. The Ashburn, Va. native is averaging a career-best 5.52 digs per set, which ranks second in the nation and is the third-highest single-season mark in JMU history.
Jena Pierson holds the single-season record with a 6.40 digs per set average during the 2007 season.
