HARRISONBURG, Va. – James Madison Director of Athletics
Jeff Bourne on Friday announced the promotion of
Justin Zenz to the position of director of athletics ticketing.
"Justin has been an integral part of our ticketing operation for several years, and we are excited to see him step up to lead the office," Bourne said. "He will bring valuable insight and direction to our efforts and with possible football playoffs and the start of basketball, will provide stability during a busy time.
Zenz previously served as the assistant director for ticketing and customer relations. In his new role, he will be in charge of all ticket operations at JMU.
"I'm excited to move into the director of athletic ticketing role at James Madison University," Zenz said. "My wife Mollie and I came to JMU in 2012 and have felt fortunate to be a part of such a supportive community and passionate fan base. I look forward to continuing on the tradition of serving the fans of JMU Nation with the highest level of service."
Prior to JMU, Zenz was a ticket office intern at the University of Notre Dame for a year before becoming a graduate assistant in the ticket office at Bowling Green State University in 2008. He was then promoted to Director of Ticket Operations at Bowling Green, a role he worked in from 2009 to 2012 before coming to JMU.
"I am very happy for this opportunity for Justin," Mike Carpenter, assistant AD for ticketing and customer relations, said. "He has proven himself in the ticket office over the past four years, and I look forward to seeing him take full responsibility of the operations."
Zenz graduated from Ohio University in 2007and majored in sport management while serving as the university mascot, Rufus, during his senior year. He then earned his MBA from Bowling Green State University in 2009.
A native of Whitehouse, Ohio, Zenz currently resides in Harrisonburg with his wife Mollie, son Caleb and dog Rosie.
