HARRISONBURG, Va. – James Madison women's basketball moved to 4-3 on the season with a 71-50 home win over Hampton on Friday night.

Freshman guard Kamiah Smalls tied for game-high scoring honors with 18 for her fifth double-digit scoring performance of the season. Redshirt senior guard Precious Hall joined her in double digits with 16 points as she pushed her career total to 1,661 points, moving into fifth place all-time.

The Dukes sank 37.5 percent of their shot attempts (24-64) while limiting the Lady Pirates to just 27.0 percent shooting (17-63), including a 1-for-16 showing in the fourth quarter. Hampton also scored just two 3-pointers for the game, both in the first half, while JMU went 7-for-20 from beyond the arc.

Senior forward Da'Lishia Griffin had her 17^th career double-digit rebounding performance, snagging 14 off the glass. JMU held the second-chance point advantage 17-7, having pulled down 18 offensive rebounds compared to Hampton's 25 defensive rebounds, as well as the points-off-turnovers edge at 18-11, despite an 18-18 draw in turnovers.

After trailing by five points early, the Dukes held Hampton (3-5) without a field goal for over 10 minutes and went on an 18-2 run over the span to take the lead for good. The Lady Pirates never got closer than two possessions the rest of the contest.

TAKING THE CHARGE
Sophomore guard Logan Reynolds drew three offensive fouls on Friday night, indicative of her high-tempo evening. She tied a career-high in steals (4) and a season-high in rebounds (3) while blocking a career-high two shots and dishing out a career-best seven assists.

MAKING THE MOVE
Redshirt senior guard Precious Hall moved into fifth place on JMU's career scoring chart, now holding 1,661 career points. She surpassed former teammate Kirby Burkholder (JMU '14), who scored 1,647 career points, and marks the second former teammate Hall has moved by this season (Jazmon Gwathmey, JMU '16).

BATTLING THE COMMONWEALTH
JMU is now 44-8 against other schools from Virginia this decade (2010-11 to present). The Dukes have won 23 of their last 24 in-state meetings.

UP NEXT
JMU starts a three-game road swing on Monday, Dec. 5 with a trip to Rutgers for a 7 p.m. contest. The Dukes have never faced the Scarlet Knights in program history.
