Dukes Play Host to Northeastern to Open Stretch Run

SCOUTING THE HUSKIES

Northeastern has won its last two contests to halt a six-game losing streak and improve to 14-13 (6-8 CAA) on the year, good for sole possession of seventh place in the league with two weeks left of the regular season.
The Huskies are 6-6 on the road this season, having played away from home just twice in their last eight games, falling at College of Charleston (68-61) on Jan. 28 before downing Towson (47-44) on Feb. 11.
Senior guard David Walker continues to pace Northeastern in scoring, racking up 18.3 points per game and notching a team-best 4.2 assists per game, while senior forward Quincy Ford, who returned from an injury three games ago, is averaging 16.0 points and 6.8 boards per contest. Senior guard Zach Stahl chips in 11.0 points to join the duo in double figures.

SERIES HISTORY

The Dukes took down Northeastern in Boston earlier this season, earning their third win in the last six meetings between the two schools and trimming the Huskies' advantage in the all-time series to 14-6 as the teams prepare to face each other for the 21st time.
JMU last beat the Huskies in Harrisonburg during the 2010-11 campaign, notching a 75-69 win during a period in which the two squads met just once per season.
In the two teams' first matchup this year, senior guard Ron Curry racked up 22 points, seven boards and four assists to lead the Dukes to a 75-63 win, while junior forward Yohanny Dalembert added 14 points on 5-of-7 shooting.

LAST TIME OUT

James Madison could not bounce back from a 20-3 first-half run by UNCW on Saturday afternoon, as the Seahawks handed the Dukes a 78-68 defeat in Colonial Athletic Association men's basketball action at Trask Coliseum.
The Dukes, who fell to 19-8 (9-5 CAA), out-shot UNCW on both field goals (45.1% to 39.3%) and three-pointers (40.0% to 35.7%), but turned the ball over 18 times as the first-place Seahawks improved to 20-5 (12-2 CAA) with their 11th straight victory.
Junior forward Tom Vodanovich racked up a season-high 17 points to pace the Dukes, going 6-for-9 from the field and 5-for-6 from the free throw line while pulling down four rebounds. Junior guard Winston Grays III came off the bench to score a season-best 15 points and grab five boards.
