HARRISONBURG, Va. – Coming off a record-breaking 80-7 win over Morehead State in its season opener, James Madison continues its home swing inside Bridgeforth Stadium, welcoming Central Connecticut State to town on Saturday, September 10 for a 4 p.m. kick. The 2016 season is presented by CarMax and Saturday's game is sponsored by University Outpost.

Saturday's contest will be a "White Out," as the Dukes will don an all-white uniform. Fans are encouraged to wear white JMU gear. The first 2,000 students to enter through Gate C will receive a free Fight for Glory White Out shirt.

DUKES PREPARE FOR MATCHUP WITH BLUE DEVILS
JMU and Central Connecticut State will face off for just the third time ever, all of which have been at home. The Dukes hold a 2-0 series lead, winning the first meeting 14-9 in 2011 and taking a 38-14 decision three years ago in 2013. In the first game between the two, the Dukes opened the expanded Bridgeforth Stadium on Sept. 10, 2011, as 25,102 fans packed into the stands for JMU's five-point victory against the Blue Devils.

The last time they met, the Dukes opened the 2013 campaign with a 38-14 victory over the Blue Devils. Quarterback Michael Birdsong accumulated three touchdowns, including two rushing scores, while Dae'Quan Scott posted his 13th career 100-yard rushing game with 120 yards while tallying almost 200 all-purpose yards.

COACHING SIMILARITIES
Mike Houston and CCSU Head Coach Pete Rossomando have some similarities in their coaching histories. Both are now third-year head coaches at the FCS level after transitioning from stints at the Division II level. Houston went 29-8 in three seasons at Lenoir-Rhyne (2011-13), winning the South Atlantic Conference title each year and advancing to a pair of NCAA Division II playoffs, which included the 2013 national championship game. Rossomando found success for five seasons at New Heaven (2009-13), where he went 42-13 with three conference crowns and two playoff berths.

SCOUTING CENTRAL CONNECTICUT STATE
The Blue Devils come to town with a 0-1 record after falling 24-10 to Lafayette last weekend. Finishing 4-7 a year ago, CCSU was predicted to finish fifth in the NEC this season. Rossomando is in his third season as head coach for the Blue Devils. He holds a 7-17 record at the helm. He previously spent five years at Division II New Haven, winning three NE-10 conference titles and making two NCAA playoff appearances. He also was offensive coordinator six years at CAA Football member Albany and offensive line coach for a season at former football school Northeastern (1999).

Jacob Dolegala passed for 269 yards with a touchdown and two interceptions last Friday, and Randall Laguerre and Najae Brown combined for 23 tackles. CCSU turned the ball over five times, adding three lost fumbles. Lafayette used a pair of long scoring drives, spanning over five minutes each in the fourth, to hold off the Blue Devils.

RECORD-SETTING WIN TO OPEN 2016
JMU broke its scoring record last Saturday, rolling to an 80-7 victory over Morehead State. The Dukes scored touchdowns on each of their first seven drives and produced points on 11 straight possessions to mount a commanding 73-7 lead after three quarters. The 73-point triumph was the largest in the 45-year history of the program, as JMU produced 10 rushing touchdowns, just one off the FCS record of 11 by Georgia Southern in 2004. It was also a CAA record for most points against a Division I team.

Three Dukes rushed for at least 100 yards, led by Bryan Schor's game- and career-high 129 yards and three touchdowns. Trai Sharp also ran for a career-high 110 yards and a score, while Cardon Johnson rushed for 104 with a pair of scores. Taylor Woods also had a career night with 89 yards and three touchdowns. JMU also set program records for first quarter points (28) and points in a half (52, 1st.)

White Out – The JMU Nation is challenged with turning Bridgeforth white. The Dukes will be sporting an all-white uniform, and fans are encouraged to wear white JMU gear while cheering on the team. Band Day – The Marching Royal Dukes welcome a number of area high school bands to the game, where they will join the MRDs to play on the field and in the stands.

Great Madison Campout presented by Valley Mall – Boy and Girl Scouts are invited to join us for the fourth annual Great Madison Campout for a chance to spend the night at Bridgeforth Stadium. Pre-registration is required and includes a ticket to the football game, dinner, a movie on the video board, camping out on Zane Showker Field and breakfast the following morning.
