HARRISONBURG, Va. – Top-ranked James Madison (5-0, 2-0 CAA) is back in action off the bye week, as is hosts No. 11 Villanova (4-2, 2-1 CAA) on Saturday, Oct. 14 in CAA Football action.
Kickoff is set for 3:30 p.m. at Bridgeforth Stadium/Zane Showker Field and will be televised on MASN2. It will also be streamed on CBS Sports Digital as part of CAA's Game of the Week package and can be heard on the JMU/Sprint Broadcast Network, with pregame coverage starting at 2:30 p.m.
The 2017 JMU football season is presented by CarMax and Saturday's game is sponsored by the JMU Duke Club.

SERIES HISTORY
Saturday marks the 26th meeting between JMU and Villanova, with the Dukes holding a 14-11 advantage. JMU has won the previous two meetings, including a 20-7 last season at VU to claim the 2016 CAA title.
ALL EYES ON JMU THIS SATURDAY WITH COLLEGE GAMEDAY IN TOWN
For the second time in three seasons, ESPN College GameDay will broadcast live from the James Madison University Quad on Saturday, Oct. 14, featuring JMU's matchup against Villanova. JMU's initial broadcast drew more than 12,000 fans to the Quad on Oct. 24, 2015, which in turn brought a Bridgeforth Stadium-record 26,069 spectators to JMU's game that night with Richmond.
The show reviews major news topics in college football, previews significant national games and is capped off with Lee Corso's headgear prediction prior to all games kicking off. In 2015, Corso stepped out of the entrance of Wilson Hall dressed as James Madison himself and made a declaration to the American people, followed by donning the Duke Dog head.
This marks the eighth College GameDay to originate from a FCS locations and the ninth overall at non-FBS sites. JMU is the second non-FBS school to host multiple GameDay shows, joining North Dakota State.
JMU AIMS FOR OUTRIGHT CAA WIN STREAK RECORD
JMU's 20-10 win at Delaware on Sept. 30 marked the 17th consecutive victory for the Dukes, which tied the CAA all-time, win-streak record. The 17 victories tied Richmond's 2008-09 record, which ended at the hands of Villanova - this week's opponent for the Dukes.
It is also a program record for wins and leads all Division I teams, both at FBS and FCS. Clemson has won 11 straight, while USF has claimed 10 in a row. No other FCS team has won more than six straight. The 17-game mark is tied for 13th all-time in FCS history, matching UR, Appalachian State (2006-07), Penn (2002-04) and Robert Morris (1999-00).
JMU has also won 18 straight games against FCS opponents, with the last loss coming on Dec. 5, 2015 versus Colgate in the second round of the playoffs.
SCOUTING VILLANOVA
The Wildcats come to town sporting a 4-2 overall record, including 2-1 mark in CAA play, following a 31-0 win last week against Maine. Last week, Villanova forced six turnovers (four INT, 2 FR), blocked a punt and tackled the punter on another special teams play.
VU averages 29.2 points per game while limiting foes to 13.2 per outing.
VU's scoring defense is second in the CAA only to JMU. It leads the league in rushing defense (50.0) and is third in total defense (283.8).

DUKES GRIND OUT WIN AT DELAWARE, SHARP CAA POTW
Behind a career-high 185 rushing yards from Trai Sharp, JMU used stout defense to down Delaware, 20-10, on Sept. 30 in Newark.
The Dukes rallied from deficits twice in the first half, as Andrew Ankrah's 23-yard fumble recovery for a TD put JMU up for good (14-10). Tyler Gray hit a pair of second-half field goals, including a career-long 48 yarder in the fourth. JMU limited UD to 229 yards of offense and blanked the host Hens for the final 42:07.
Following the win, Trai Sharp was named CAA Offensive Player of the Week on Oct. 2, marking the first such award of his career.
SCHOR NEARING CAREER MILESTONES & RECORDS
Entering the Villanova game, Bryan Schor ranks in the top eight in five career categories.
Most notably, Schor is quickly approaching JMU's career passing touchdowns record, as he sits at 48. He is just three shy of the record (51), held by Vad Lee and Justin Rascati.
Schor is also fifth in passing yards (4,887) and completions (373), sixth in total offense (5,897) and eighth in pass attempts (533).
He needs 113 passing yards to become JMU's fifth quarterback ever to reach 5,000 passing yards and is 103 total yards shy of 6,000.
TOP DOGS ON DEFENSE
JMU's defense is consistently showing why it's one of the tops in the country. JMU concedes just 11.6 points per game. However, only 37 of the 58 points allowed have come against the defense.
Over the past six games, dating back to the FCS title game, JMU has allowed only 468 rushing yards and 2.4 yards per carry. The secondary has been solid all year, having only allowed one pass touchdown and collecting nine interceptions.
The Dukes rank in the top 10 nationally including second in pass efficiency defense (76.19), third in both scoring defense (11.6) and total defense (231.2), fourth in both passing defense (141.8) and red-zone defense (57.1%), fifth in interceptions (9) and ninth in first-down defense (74).
Individually, Jimmy Moreland ranks ninth in FCS in passes defended (1.6) and Rashad Robinson is 12th in interceptions (3).
