EARLYSVILLE, Va. – Led by senior Nora Raher, the James Madison cross country team notched a sweep against Virginia, Norfolk State and Liberty in its first action of the season at the UVA Duals on Saturday.
Race Recap
Leading the charge for the Dukes, Raher (14:34) and senior Carol Strock (14:40) rounded out the top five, finishing fourth and fifth, respectively, in the 4K race. The Dukes occupied sixth through 12th place, with the last two JMU runners finishing 15th and 16th out of 35 runners. JMU defeated Virginia 25-44, Norfolk State 20-59 and Liberty 15-70.
Rinker's Overall Thoughts
"I was extremely pleased with how we followed the race plan. Our groups stuck together and then really moved up over the last mile of the race. The key to early season races is less the outcome and more the process and our process was excellent today."
