Inside the Box Score
Overall, the match was very level as Pacific took 12 shots to JMU's 11 and Pacific tallied six shots on goal which was one more than JMU. Seven Dukes attempted a shot in the match with Vyner leading the way, as he took three shots with two on goal. Both goalies racked up four saves on the night, each gaining two per half.
Foley Remarks
Overall Thoughts…
"This game was like an NCAA Tournament game, both teams fought very hard. I think Pacific comes in with a little more experience than we have, so I think they showed a little bit more composure late in the game but every goal scored was based on mistakes made by players. We played against a quality team and came up just short."
First Loss…
"A loss can humble you quickly. The most important thing is that you learn more about yourself in defeat than you do in victory. The big thing is that we just have to learn from this experience and use this to help us further in the season."
Up Next
The Dukes will have a six day break before playing their next match against Navy in Maryland on Saturday at 11 a.m. The next home match for JMU is September 15 against Niagara at 7 p.m.
