The Dukes will face Northeastern on Sunday at 2 p.m. in Boston, Mass.
On Friday, the Dukes lost in overtime to Hofstra, 87-81 in Hempstead, N.Y.
Junior Stuckey Mosley turned in the best night of his prodigious JMU career, erupting for 37 points with the help of nine three-pointers, matching the JMU program record.
Freshman Matt Lewis led three others in double figures with 14 points to go with five boards and three assists. Junior Develle Phillips added 12 points and seven boards across 27 minutes, while freshman Darius Banks chipped in 10 points and five rebounds.
This is the 25th matchup in the all-time series between the Dukes and Huskies, with Northeastern holding the series lead, 17-7.
In the last matchup, the Dukes dropped an 81-70 decision in Harrisonburg on Dec. 30, 2017.
Against Northeastern, Freshman Dwight Wilson turned in his best collegiate performance in the loss with 13 points on 5-of-8 shooting and eight boards in just 18 minutes off the bench. The evening gave Wilson new career highs in points, rebounds and minutes.
Northeastern improved to 9-6 (2-1 CAA) after a 72-60 win over Elon on Friday.
Against Elon, redshirt junior Vasa Pusica tallied 20 points with four rebounds while senior Devon Begley added 12 points (6-for-6 from the free throw line), five rebounds, four assists and four steals.
