HARRISONBURG, Va. – With its seventh sweep of 2018, James Madison volleyball prevailed over Colonial Athletic Association opponent UNCW, 3-0 (25-19, 25-20, 25-13), Sunday afternoon in Sinclair Gym.

The Dukes (16-3, 8-0 CAA) remain perfect in league play after coming from behind the Seahawks (10-6, 3-3 CAA) in all three frames for the victory. Â

Briley Brind'Amour led the match with nine kills apiece. Junior

MATCH NOTES
- With seven kills on 13 attempts,
Kelly Vahos led the match with a .462 attack percentage, followed by White, who hit .429 on her seven kills on 14 attempts.

Savannah Marshall and Recker also tallied double-digit digs, slating 11 apiece. For Marshall, this was a career-high performance.

Tilbe Yaglioglu led with two service aces to remain in the top spot among the Dukes with her 21 aces on the season.
- In addition to Yaglioglu, four other Dukes hit a service ace today:
Jacqui Koebel, Recker, White and Driscoll.
- All but two athletes registered at least one dig for JMU on the day.
- As a squad, JMU hit a .310 for the match, notching its highest attack percentage in the third and final set (.344).

HOW IT HAPPENED
- UNCW started the match on a high after pulling ahead of JMU with a five-point run before the Dukes caught back up. JMU then stole the lead with an 11-2 run, which included aces from Recker and Yaglioglu, kills from Vahos, Gail and Brind'Amour and a solid block from Vahos and White. The Dukes did not relent the lead and took the first set.
- The Seahawks once again started the set quickly before the Dukes could knot the score at 15-all. JMU rode a UNCW attack error, a White/Recker block and a White kill for some padding in its advantage. UNCW could only get five more points on the board before the Dukes picked up a second-set victory.
- Despite the Seahawks beginning the third frame with the first four points, the Dukes kicked it into gear, utilizing a 10-1 run to own the upper hand. UNCW couldn't stage a comeback and JMU completed its third sweep in CAA action.

The Dukes go back out on the road, this time traveling to Boston, Mass. to battle Northeastern for the second time this season on Friday, Oct. 19 at 7 p.m. before going to Hempstead, N.Y. to challenge Hofstra on Sunday, Oct. 21 at 1 p.m.
