DULUTH, Ga. - The James Madison men's golf team closed out its fall season on Tuesday afternoon, taking home fifth place as the Dukes wrapped up play at the Autotrader Collegiate Classic, hosted by Georgia State at the par-72, 6,706-yard Berkeley Hills Country Club.

The Dukes posted their third under-par round of the week, closing with a 4-under 284 on Monday to keep their hold on sole possession of fifth at the 12-team event, finishing just two strokes out of fourth and four strokes outside the top three.

Senior
Ben Tucker paced the Dukes in the final round, closing with a 70 (-2) that pushed him into a tie for 46th among the 75 players, while freshmen
George Heath and
Ignacio de Pineda each posted rounds of 71 (-1), good for tie the pair for 46th and 17th, respectively.

Sophomore
Ignacio Montero continued his strong play, using two birdies to finish with a final-round 72 (E) that earned him a tie for 10th, his first top-10 finish of the year, while junior
Walker Cress carded a 74 (+2) that put him in a tie for 31st to close the fall.

"We think we could have finished better this weekend, but it was still good to post a solid score to close the fall. We know we have some things to improve during the break and we'll get back to campus and get to work."

UP NEXT
The Dukes have completed the fall portion of their 2018-19 season, having finished inside the top five in all four of their completed tournaments. JMU will be back in action when its travels to Banyan Creek Golf Club in Palm City, Fla. to take part in the UNCG Banyan Creek Collegiate on Feb. 10-12, 2019.
