HARRISONBURG, Va. – James Madison women's tennis has signed Michelle Los Arcos Balasch as a part of its Fall 2018 class, head coach
Shelley Jaudon announced Wednesday afternoon.
Balasch stands at 5'4" and hails from Santiago, Chile. As an incoming student her eligibility will be effective immediately for the spring dual season.
Balasch is a product of Santiago's Sport Academy where she played under head coach Matias Cortes.
During her playing career, Balasch has appeared at the ODESUR games and won a bronze medal in mixed doubles. She also made an appearance on the European tour at the age of 13.
Balasch will enter JMU as a psychology major with a minor in general business.
She is the daughter of Jesus Enrique Los Arcos and Lillian Balasch. She enjoys reading, painting and relaxing with friends and family in her spare time.
