Laura Gomez-Ruiz took home runner-up honors and sophomore
Lauren Comegys grabbed third on Tuesday, as the James Madison women's golf team wrapped up competition at the Battle of Boulder Creek, hosted at Boulder Creek Golf Club.

Both golfers matched their second-round scores with loops of 3-over 75, tied for the best final round of any competitor in the 74-player field. Gomez-Ruiz and Comegys each recorded the highest finish of their collegiate careers, with Gomez-Ruiz finishing just one stroke out of medalist honors at 226 (+10) and Comegys one stroke behind her at 227 (+11).

As a team, the Dukes cut 11 strokes off their second-round score, carding a 310 on Tuesday to jump Montana State and take home fourth-place honors at the 12-team event, matching their highest team finish of the season-place honors at the 12-team event, matching their highest team finish of the season.

Katie Turk led the late charge, shaving eight strokes off her second-round card with a 4-over 76, lifting her 15 spots on the leaderboard and into a tie for 23rd at 242. Freshman
Morgan Cox dropped three strokes on her way to an 84, putting her in a tie for 51st, while senior
Gabrielle Weiss posted an 88 to close the JMU scoring in a tie for 58th.

Maddisen Cox carded her third 80 in as many rounds to climb into a tie for 19th at 240.

The Dukes will be back in action in 10 days, when they head to Augusta, Ga. to take part in the 3M Augusta Invitational, scheduled for March 16-18.
