Be the Match Bone Marrow Drive Slated for Wednesday

James Madison's women's soccer team will be partnering with Be The Match and the university health center for a bone marrow donation registration drive on Wednesday April 4. The drive will take place 10 a.m. until 3 p.m. at both Student Success Center and Festival Alleghany Room.
Anyone age 18 to 44 can participate and the process is quick and easy. A simple cheek swab can potentially save someone's life if a match is determined for an individual who is in need of a bone marrow transplant.
Women's soccer has partnered with Be The Match and the university health center for several years for this registration drive initiative. Last year's event brought in 460 participants that registered to potentially become bone marrow donators.
Be The Match is a non-profit organization run by the National Bone Marrow Program. Be The Match has a goal to locate a donor for every person in need of a bone marrow transplant. Registering to potentially be a donor can help save the life of someone who has been diagnosed with blood cancers like leukemia and lymphoma.
