HARRISONBURG, Va. – James Madison men's soccer has added seven players to the 2018 roster, announced by Head Coach

Â
"We are very excited to welcome the incoming class. We feel the class is a unique mix of experienced players, athletically gifted players, and up-and-coming players with a strong soccer IQ. Most importantly, we feel the incoming class represents what we are looking for in a JMU men's soccer player which is good people, strong students, great competitors and great teammates. We look forward to their arrival on campus."

Lamatsch is a polished Fifth Division player in Germany, having developed in one of the most well-known youth academies, VfB Stuttgart. Scouting Report: "Anshelm comes from Sundbybergs IK in Swedish Second Division, where he was a mainstay for the club as a center back. He is a modern center back who is comfortable with the ball at his feet and connects passes out of the back at a very high rate. He played for Brommapojkarna during his earlier years, which is one of the biggest and most successful clubs in the world. Anshelm has great size and athleticism which allows him to win aerial challenges and come out on top in most of his tackles in the run of play. It will be great to get Anshelm on campus and have him contribute to our program moving forward."
Â
#26- Tyler Clegg

Height/Weight: 6-3/185

Previous Club: Evergreen Hammers
Scouting Report:Â "Due to our familiarity with Clegg and his family, we know that he comes with a great deal of traits that are ideal for DI soccer. He is a well-rounded athlete who can play multiple positions across the backline or in the midfield. Clegg has been a starter for the Evergreen PDL team for two seasons which is uncommon for a high school aged player. We are confident that Clegg will impact JMU men's soccer in a positive way both on and off the field."
Â

In high school, Dugan was on the All-American watch list and is rated as a three-star recruit on TopDrawerSoccer.com. His competitive mentality is remarkable, he has a workmanlike and professional approach that has translated to success with his Match Fit Academy team. He has a strong physical base that will allow him to be ahead of the curve athletically when he reports to our preseason camp come August. VanSlyke can be effective in multiple positions such as center back, outside back and forward. He is crafty on the ball for someone his size and really stood out to us with his effectiveness in all game situations. We will look for VanSlyke to compete from day one and add some depth to our defensive unit."Â
