RALEIGH, N.C. – James Madison dropped a 15-2 decision to #4 NC State in non-conference baseball action on Wednesday evening at Doak Field at Dail Stadium.

The Dukes (21-25) were held scoreless until the sixth inning while the Wolfpack (36-12) scored at least a run in all but two innings.

Freshman Michael Morgan led the Dukes at the plate, turning in a 2-for-3 performance with a run scored, a walk and was hit by a pitch. Sophomore Fox Semones added a hit with two walks.

Junior Garrett Richards was handed the loss to move to 0-2 on the season after tossing two innings, giving up five runs (four earned) over four hits.

Senior Adam Sisk drove in JMU's first run in the sixth with a single to left center field, scoring Morgan from third base. In the ninth, Semones hit an infield single that forced an errant throw which allowed sophomore Matt Dipasupil to score the final run of the game.

"Playing NC State was a great challenge for us, they are one of the best teams in the country. I was proud of how our guys competed. One of our goals was getting some young guys in the game which we did while also preparing ourselves for Hofstra. I was proud of how we played defense and playing in a tough environment will help our club."

UP NEXT
James Madison will travel north to Hofstra for a three-game Colonial Athletic Association series with the first game scheduled for Friday at 3 p.m. Game two is slated for Saturday at 1 p.m. and the series finale set for a 1 p.m. start on Sunday.
