HARRISONBURG, Va. – James Madison volleyball concluded its opening weekend registering two glorious victories in the final day of the Tropical Smoothie Invitational. The Dukes jumpstarted the day winning in three sets over Delaware State (25-8, 25-14, 25-12) and capped it with a triumph over Missouri (28-26, 22-25, 27-25, 26-24).

The Dukes hold a 3-1 record on the weekend and on the season. The Tigers – who are receiving votes in the AVCA National Poll – fell to 2-1 while the Hornets sank to 0-3.

Junior
Briley Brind'Amour notched 29 kills over the course of the weekend while junior
Sarah Martin added 67 assists to JMU's effort. From a defensive standpoint,
Sarah Driscoll slated 33 digs and junior
M'Kaela White produced nine total blocks.

MATCH ONE NOTES
- Six athletes registered an attack percentage above .300:
Caitlyn Meyer (.500),
Allison Lake (.500),
M'Kaela White (.471),

- White also led the match with eight kills and five total blocks, including one solo block.

MATCH TWO NOTES

Briley Brind'Amour produced a stellar performance, leading the Dukes with 22 kills – a new career high from the junior. Her previous high of 17 kills was registered in 2017 against Drake.

Sarah Martin notched 52 assists achieving a new career high of her own. This marks the second time this weekend she broke her prior career high after posting 42 assists yesterday against Wichita State.

M'Kaela White (15) and
Bryn Recker (14) joined Brind'Amour in the double-digit kill club. White also achieved a match-high .536 attack percentage and her first career service ace.

Sarah Driscoll tallied a match-high 23 digs – eight more than the second-most digs. The junior also matched her career high of four assists.
- Though the teams traded points in each set, JMU fought their way back from a deficit every time.
- The Dukes slated six service aces to Missouri's one.
- In the third set, JMU hit .421 as a squad – their best hitting percentage in any set on the match.
