RICHMOND, Va. – Second-ranked James Madison turned in the biggest road win in school history, amassing 543 yards of offense along with five takeaways in a 63-10 triumph over Richmond on Saturday afternoon at Robins Stadium.

The Dukes improve to 4-1 on the year and 2-0 in Colonial Athletic Association play, while the Spiders fall to 2-3 and 0-2. It was JMU's biggest win in the 36-game history against the Spiders, as it registered its third straight win at UR.

QUICK HITS

Redshirt junior quarterback Ben DiNucci was 19-of-26 for 248 yards and three touchdowns with an interception.
The Dukes averaged 5.3 yards per carry, rushing for 200 yards, led by senior running back Marcus Marshall, who had 99 yards and two scores on just 10 carries. Marshall had a game-long run of 55 yards on his second touchdown, and senior Trai Sharp, who gained 62 yards, had a long of 45.
JMU scored in all three phases Saturday, as redshirt sophomore receiver Jawon Hamilton took the opening kickoff 93 yards for his first career return for a score. The Dukes forced five turnovers, including a 100-yard interception for a touchdown by redshirt senior corner Jimmy Moreland, who set the JMU all-time record with his sixth defensive touchdown.
Three receivers had over 80 receiving yards, led by redshirt freshman Kyndel Dean, who finished with career highs of five catches for 82 yards and two touchdowns.
Redshirt junior Riley Stapleton tied Dean for game-high honors with five receptions for 84 yards and a score, and redshirt sophomore Jake Brown, made two catches for a career-high 91 yards and a touchdown – the first of his JMU career.
Defensively, junior defensive lineman John Daka registered a career-high 3.5 tackles for loss with a sack and forced fumble while tallying five tackles.
Redshirt junior linebacker Dimitri Holloway had 11 tackles including a half tackle for loss. Junior safety Adam Smith and redshirt sophomore safety Wayne Davis each recorded interceptions, as Smith tacked on seven tackles and Davis contributed four stops, a tackle for loss and two pass breakups.
Also making a sack each on the defensive line were sophomore Mike Greene, redshirt senior Darrious Carter and redshirt junior Ron'Dell Carter.

POSTGAME NOTES

The Dukes scored four touchdowns in the second and three in the third to pull away for their third straight win while scoring at least 50 points.
JMU out-gained Richmond 543-337, which including a 200-83 margin in the run game and a season-best 343 passing yards, as opposed to UR's 256.
JMU had a plus-4 turnover margin, making three interceptions with a pair of fumble recoveries. The Dukes also had four sacks in the win.
JMU has scored at least 47 points in each of its last three road matchups against Richmond, averaging 55.0 points per game.
The Dukes and Spiders are now tied at 18-18 through 36 meetings, as JMU is now 10-8 all-time in Richmond.

DEFENSE EQUALS OFFENSE

JMU forced five turnovers, resulting in 21 points against the Spiders.
The Dukes tallied three interceptions, a strip sack resulting in a fumble recovery and another recovery on a kickoff return.
Jimmy Moreland turned in his third straight game with a touchdown, with a 100-yard pick-six in the second quarter.
JMU scored back-to-back offensive possessions with touchdowns off fumble recoveries, as John Daka had a strip sack and sophomore running back Percy Agyei-Obese had a force and a recovery on the ensuing kickoff.
In all, the JMU defense racked up four sacks, 10 tackles for loss, three interceptions, five pass break-ups and three forced fumbles, holding Richmond to 55 yards in the second half.
