BALTIMORE, Md. – Head coach
Lauren Steinbrecher became the winningest coach in program history as James Madison volleyball secured four-set victories over Loyola (Md.) (27-25, 16-25, 25-18, 25-13) and University of Maryland-Baltimore County (21-25, 25-10, 25-13, 25-23) in the first day of the Charm City Challenge.
The Dukes improve to 7-2 on the year. Loyola held a 4-4 mark after its match against JMU and UMBC fell to 2-6.
Steinbrecher, the 11th head coach in the history of the program dating back to 1969, owns a 158-93 overall record in her ninth season the Dukes. She surpassed
Disa Garner, who guided the Dukes from 2000-2009 and was 157-129 in her 10 seasons.
Junior
Briley Brind'Amour led the offense with 28 kills on the day, while junior
Sarah Driscoll notched 35 digs. With 81 assists, junior
Sarah Martin was the setting leader for the Dukes, and junior
M'Kaela White notched 13 blocks. Senior
Tilbe Yaglioglu tallied four aces on the day.
MATCH ONE NOTES – LOYOLA (MD.)

Sarah Martin led the match with 40 assists, while
Sarah Driscoll matched her career-high five assists. Driscoll added a match-high 19 digs.
- With nine kills, Martin hit a match-leading .471.

Bryn Recker achieved her fifth double-double on the season with 10 kills and 13 digs.

Briley Brind'Amour (13) and
M'Kaela White (12) joined Recker with double-digit kill performances.

Tilbe Yaglioglu matched her season high in service aces with three on the match.

Savannah Marshall tallied a career-high three digs in two sets of action.
- JMU had two sets that it hit above a .300: the first set (.333) and the fourth set (.368).
- The Dukes had five aces while holding the Retrievers to only one.
MATCH TWO NOTES – UMBC
- The Dukes hit .323 as a team, hitting .455 in the second set and .467 in the third.

Bryn Recker slated her second double-double showing on the day after the senior had 11 kills and 13 digs, while
Sarah Martin also added a double-double with a match-high 41 assists and 12 digs.

Taylor Gail accumulated a .571 attack percentage off eight kills, no errors and 14 attempts.
