HARRISONBURG, Va. – Second-ranked James Madison gets set for its fourth home game of the season, as it hosts #16 Towson on Saturday, Oct. 26 for the 2019 Homecoming game.
Kickoff is set for 3:30 p.m. at Bridgeforth Stadium/Zane Showker Field and will be televised on MASN2 and SNY and streamed for free on MadiZONE. The game can also be heard on the JMU Sprint Broadcast Network, with pregame coverage beginning at 2:30 p.m.

BREAKING DOWN THE SERIES
JMU and Towson meet for the 29th time since the first matchup in 1976. The two played each other in 16 of 17 season from 1976 until 1992, and then the series picked back up in 2004, once Towson was a member of the conference. Since TU joined the CAA, JMU has won 10 of 11, including three straight. Towson's only conference win vs. JMU came in 2013, the year the Tigers advanced to the national title game.
JMU is 12-1 all-time at home against Towson, with TU's lone win coming at Bridgeforth back on Nov. 7, 1981 (20-7). During JMU's three-game win streak in the series, the Dukes have averaged wins by 50.3 to 18.0. Over the history of the series, JMU has averaged 27.2 points per outing and Towson has averaged 15.8 points per game.
THE LAST TIME JMU AND TOWSON MET
JMU rushed for a season-high 395 yards in the 2018 regular-season finale to notch a 38-17 win at Towson back on Nov. 17, 2018. Three Dukes rushed for over 100 hundred yards, led by Cardon Johnson, who had 162 yards and a score. Trai Sharp ran for 107 and a touchdown and Ben DiNucci threw for 181 while rushing for 104 yards and a career-high three touchdowns. Dimitri Holloway had 14 tackles, while Landan Word contributed 11 with 1.5 tackles for loss. The Dukes also broke up seven passes and registered four sacks, to go with a fumble recovery.
LAST TIME OUT FOR THE DUKES
JMU limited William & Mary to only 194 yards en route to knocking off William & Mary, 38-10, on the road last Saturday. The JMU defense produced a season-high 15 tackles for loss, the most since 2006. It was led by Ron'Dell Carter, who had a career-high six TFL's. Mike Greene and Wayne Davis each had 1.5 for loss and eight different Dukes had at least 1.0.
Ben DiNucci threw for 250 yards and two touchdowns, and Percy Agyei-Obese rushed for 68 yards and a pair of scores. Brandon Polk caught a career-high seven passes for 77 yards and a touchdown, and both Riley and Dylan Stapleton made four receptions apiece. JMU conceded just 119 passing yards and 75 rushing yards and added three interceptions. The takeaways, coupled with JMU's 25.0 yards per punt return set up four touchdown drives which began in W&M territory.
CARTER AND AMOS TAKE HOME CAA WEEKLY HONORS Ron'Dell Carter was named CAA Defensive Player of the Week, and D'Angelo Amos was tabbed Special Teams Player of the Week following their performances in JMU's win at William & Mary.
Carter tied his career high with 10 tackles and registered a career-best 6.0 tackles for loss, to go with a sack. His TFL total was tied for the most by any FCS or FBS player this season, and he ranks second in the CAA with 15.5 TFL in 2019. Amos averaged 25.0 yards on his five punt returns. He had three returns of 20 yards or more, including a season-long 49 yarder that set up JMU's first touchdown. He also added five tackles, an interception and a pass breakup.
DUKES STAY PUT AT #2 FOR NINTH STRAIGHT WEEK
JMU is #2 for the ninth straight week in both the STATS FCS Top 25 and AFCA FCS Coaches' Poll. The Dukes garnered three first-place votes from the media, trailing just defending champion, North Dakota State, which took home 156 first-place votes. South Dakota State and Weber State remained at third and fourth, while Villanova moved back into fifth.
Four CAA teams are ranked this week. Following JMU and VU were #16 Towson and #19 Delaware. JMU has been nationally ranked every week since Nov. 10, 2014 and inside the top 15 every week since the start of the 2015 season. It's also been top 10 every week since Sept. 26, 2016.
SCOUTING TOWSON
The Tigers enter Saturday's matchup with a 4-3 record and 1-2 mark in CAA play after rolling to a 56-7 win against Bucknell in their non-conference finale. Towson averages 33.9 points per game while conceding 26.0 to its foes. TU ranks third in the CAA in scoring offense and fourth in passing offense (243.7).
Tom Flacco, younger brother of Joe Flacco, is the reigning CAA Player of the Year. He has thrown for 1,639 yards and 14 touchdowns with three picks, which included a school-record six TD's last week. Shane Leatherbury caught five touchdown passes last week and is now second with eight receiving scores.
Defensively, Towson is fifth in scoring defense and ninth in total defense (396.3) in the CAA. The Tigers are tied with JMU and UNH with 10 interceptions, two of which were pick-sixes. Bryce Carter leads the team with 3.5 sacks and 8.5 TFL's and Terrill Gillette has a CAA-high 10 PBU's.

During JMU's seven-game win streak, JMU has outscored its opponents by a combined 310 to 115, averaging wins by 44.3 to 16.4.
The Dukes have gained over 1,300 yards more than their six foes, with a 3,390 to 2,045 advantage. JMU has also out-rushed teams by over 1,200 yards, leading 1,721 to 612 during the stretch. The Dukes have scored 40 touchdowns, allowing the six opponents to score 14. Third down also favors JMU, as it converts 57% (58/101) and holds teams to 28% (27/97).
