CHARLESTON, S.C. – Led by senior
Briley Brind'Amour with 18 kills, four James Madison players registered double-digit kills en route to a four-set triumph (25-16, 22-25, 25-22, 31-29) on the road against the College of Charleston Cougars on Friday night.Â

The Dukes picked up its fifth straight victory, improving to 13-6 overall and 7-2 in Colonial Athletic Association action while the Cougars fell to 5-16, 2-7.

Brind'Amour paced JMU's offense with a season-high 18 kills, followed by freshman
Danielle Nathan who recorded a career-high 17. Senior
M'Kaela White got in on the action, adding 12 kills while freshman
Sophia Davis had 11 in the match. Running the Dukes' offense, senior setter
Sarah Martin racked up a season-high 52 assists.

Defensively, three Dukes finished with double-digit dig performances and were led by sophomore libero
Savannah Marshall with 21. White and Davis led JMU on the front row with four blocks each while the team finished with 10.Â

HOW IT HAPPENED
SET 1 | The Dukes won the first point and never trailed in the first set, winning 25-16. JMU led by as many as 11 points, totaling 16 kills while notching three aces in the opening set.
SET 2 | In a back-and-forth stanza, JMU dropped the second set, 25-22, to even the match.
SET 3 | JMU bounced back in the third, taking control of the set early to win 25-22. JMU garnered its final three aces in the match as Marshall, Martin and freshman
Caroline Dozier each recorded one.Â
SET 4 | With a 2-1 advantage heading into the fourth, JMU battled in the fourth to close out the match with a 31-29 triumph in the fourth. In a back-and-forth set, there were seven ties and two lead changes. JMU received a strong defensive performance on the row, blocking five Cougar attacks while capitalizing on 10 Charleston attack errors.Â

- With Brind'Amour's 18 kills and Nathan's 17, tonight's match marks the first time two players have recorded at least 15 kills in a match since Brind'Amour and White against Charleston last year on Nov. 17, 2018.Â
- JMU's 62 kills are the most in a single match since playing Charleston last season on Nov. 27, 2018.Â
