TALLAHASSEE, Fla. - Freshman
Ignacio de Pineda matched his best collegiate round on Sunday afternoon, leading the way for the James Madison men's golf team as it took home eighth place at the 2019 Seminole Intercollegiate, hosted by Florida State at the par-72, 6,965-yard Golden Eagle Country Club.

De Pineda birdies three of his final seven holes on his way to a 2-under 70, his third such round of the season, pushing him 14 spots up the 75-player leaderboard and into a tie for 27th at 1-over 217.

As a team, the Dukes carded a final-round 294 (+6) to keep their hold on eighth place among a strong 14-team field. Wake Forest, the fifth-ranked team in the country, took home the team championship, besting No. 30 Florida State by a single stroke.

Sophomore
Ignacio Montero carded a 2-over 74 in his final round, closing his tournament in a tie for 42nd, while freshman
Nick Schlickenrieder and junior
Ryan Cox each posted rounds of 3-over 75 to close out the JMU scoring. Schlickenrieder finished tied for 33rd, his highest collegiate finish, while Cox was tied for 39th.

Ben Tucker closed out the JMU performances on the day with a 5-over 77, wrapping up his week in a tie for 53rd.
