BLOOMINGTON, IN – James Madison women's tennis had its three-match win-streak snapped on Saturday afternoon at the hands of the Indiana Hoosiers in a 4-1 decision at the IU Tennis Center.
The Dukes fell to 4-2, while Indiana improved to 5-1 who increased its own win-streak to five.
In doubles action, Indiana's duo of Madison Appel and Jelly Bozovic took down freshman
Daniela Voloh and senior
Abby Amos 6-2 at No. 1.
At No. 3, the Dukes tandem of senior
Emma Petersen and freshman
Amanda Nord evened things up with a 6-3 victory over Michelle McKamey and Somer Henry.
With doubles knotted up at a set apiece, IU's team of Caitlin Bernard and Natalie Whalen defeated the Dukes duo of freshman
Daria Afanasyeva and junior
Jona Roka 6-2 to claim the doubles point and give the Hoosiers a 1-0 advantage heading into singles play.
To begin singles, Indiana gained two quick straight set victories from Bozovic at No. 4 (6-2, 6-2) over Roka and Whalen at No. 2 (6-3, 6-3) over Amos to increase their lead to 3-0.
On court No. 5, Petersen rolled past McKamey 6-4, 6-4 to cut into the Indiana lead and to put the Dukes on the board at 3-1. The victory was the 76th singles win of her career, moving her into sole possession of second-place in program history for career singles wins, and just one victory behind Jacqueline Palmucci's record of 77.
With Voloh and Afanasyeva both leading in their respective third sets, the Hoosiers cut the Dukes comeback bid short after Henry raced past freshman
Michelle Los Arcos Balasch, 6-0 in the third set to claim a 6-2, 1-6, 6-0 victory at No. 6, giving Indiana match point at 4-1.

The Dukes will travel south next Friday and Saturday to North Carolina to take on East Carolina in Greenville and North Carolina State in Raleigh.
