HARRISONBURG, Va. – James Madison women's tennis rolled to victories in 15 of 15 sets, cruising by Towson, 7-0 in Colonial Athletic Association women's tennis action on Friday afternoon at the Hillside Courts.
JMU upped its mark to 7-6 on the spring season, while Towson fell to 2-9, dropping its fourth consecutive dual match.
In doubles action the Dukes came out with a changed lineup. The duo of freshman
Amanda Nord and junior
Jona Roka teamed up for the first time this year and dominated Towson's tandem of Jessica Assenmacher and Themis Haliou 6-0 at No. 3.
At No. 1, the more familiar pairing of senior
Abby Amos and freshman
Daniela Voloh claimed a 6-1 win at No. 1 to clinch the doubles point and an early 1-0 lead for JMU.
At No. 2, senior
Emma Petersen joined forces with freshman
Daria Afanasyeva for the first time since the conclusion of the fall season and completed the doubles sweep with a 6-3 triumph over Phoebe Collins and Lucy Gloninger.
In singles, the Dukes continued to pour it on. At No. 2, Amos dropped just a single game en route to a 6-1, 6-0 victory over Haliou to increase the JMU lead to 2-0.
On court 5, Petersen dispatched Gloninger 6-1, 6-2 for her 81
st career singles victory, putting the Dukes on the cusp of match point.
Minutes later, Nord clinched match point at 4-0 at No. 6, dropping Collins 6-0, 6-2 in straight-sets for her third consecutive singles win.
Straight-set wins from Voloh at No. 3, Afanasyeva at No. 1 and Roka at No. 4 finished off the afternoon and the 7-0 sweep for JMU.

DOUBLE DUKES
JMU's victory marked the 25th consecutive win, when claiming the doubles point. The Dukes sit at 6-0 when winning the doubles point in 2019, along with a mark of 25-0 over the last two dual seasons.
