CHARLESTON, W.Va. – James Madison women's tennis rounded out day three of Thunder in the Mountains with a great showing, capturing straight-set wins in all six singles matches against Youngstown State.
Sophomore
Daria Afanasyeva fought hard against senior Imaan Hassim, winning the first set 7-5, before rolling to a 6-1 win in the second to close out her weekend.
Daniela Voloh and
Jona Roka set the tone for the day as they both won 6-0 in their respective first sets. Voloh beat Tamara Teufl 6-2 in the second set, while Roka claimed victory against Cassandra Moraleja 6-1.
Kylie Moulin defeated Lucia Zagar 6-3, 6-0, concluding a successful first appearance as a new Duke.
Natalia Nikolopoulou had a decisive win over Elvira Esteo, capturing her match by scores of 6-2, 6-2.
Michelle Los Arcos had a strong presence on the court, blanking Claudia Barboza 6-0, 6-0.
