SCOUTING THE COLONIALS
- George Washington was unable to overcome a slow start and dropped their first contest of the season to Virginia Tech on Dec. 1, 92-57 inside of Cassell Coliseum. The Colonials moved to 2-1 on the season.Â
- Jasmine Whitney posted 13 points, three assists, one block and a steal to lead the charge for GW while Ali Brigham put up 13 points as well on 60 percent (6-of-10) shooting from the field with three boards.
- On the season, Neila Luma paces George Washington in scoring (12.0) and rebounding (7.3). Brigham follows behind, scoring 11.0 points per game while both Whitney and Maddie Loder hand out 3.3apg.Â
SERIES HISTORY
- Wednesday's contest marks the 13th-ever meeting between the Dukes and the Colonials.
- JMU controls the series advantage at 9-3. The Dukes have yet to lose to GW when the game is played in Harrisonburg, holding a 5-0 record. Currently, the Dukes are on a three-game winning streak overall.
- In the last meeting on Dec. 20, 2019, JMU traveled up north and led wire-to-wire in a 69-50 win.
- The last meeting between the teams in Harrisonburg came on Nov. 8, 2018 when the Dukes invited GW to the Convo to open the seson and earned a 50-37 win. Then-junior Kamiah Smalls posted 14 points.
