STATE COLLEGE, Pa. - James Madison women's tennis beat Penn State 4-2 on the road Saturday, at the Penn State Tennis Center.Â
JMU won two of three doubles matches and three of six singles matches in today's contest against the Nittany Lions. Today's win for the Dukes advances their record to 3-2, and evens Penn State's record to 2-2.Â
Sophomore tandem Amanda Nord and Kylie Moulin took a 6-1 win from Olivia Ryan and Gracey Hirsch. Sophomores Daniela Voloh and Natalia Nikolopoulou won the deciding doubles match, securing the doubles point for JMU with a 6-2 win over Gabby O'Gorman and Frederikke Svarre.Â
Moulin rolled in straight sets, claiming a 6-0, 6-2 victory at No. 4 over Olivia Ryan, extending JMU's lead to 2-0. Sophomore Daria Afanasyeva forced a third set against Frederikke Svarre to win 0-6, 6-2, 6-4.Â
After three sets, Voloh dropped a tough decision against Samantha Smith at No. 3, with JMU leading Penn State 3-2.Â
Nikolopoulou also won in straight sets, 6-4, 6-2 over Gracey Hirsch at No. 5 singles. Nikolopoulou's win clinched the match for the Dukes, resulting in Nord's match unfinished.Â

UP NEXT
The Dukes return to action on Sunday, Feb. 9 when they travel to Washington, D.C., to take on Georgetown. The match is slated for a 10 a.m. start.Â
